In less than ideal conditions, rubber packers are wayyyyyy better than a steel counterpart. Maybe your conditions are always ideal, but I've fought ring rollers a lot since things aren't always perfect here.

Transport is another nice thing. I have a roadrunner hay squeeze, so picking a ring roller up and moving them isn't a big deal, but without one a rubber tire roller is a lot nicer. You can leave it behind the disk or ripper while going down the road, or tow with a pickup.
