When growing a lot of high value crops over there (onions in this case) they want an even amount of compaction across the field. Especially for the root veggies like I mentioned earlier. This was made so when planting/seeding onions, the front 2 main tires are held off the ground and the added ones way out front are on the ground. These extras plus the rear tractor tires make an evenly packed seedbed across the bar instead of variably compacted soils like we have here on 99% of our fields.

Side note, since the extra front tires are on the ground in the field most of the time, they can also steer and they have the steering for those hooked to the Paradyme on the roof for guidance. Lots of custom work done to this one, works like a dream.
