Life's but a walking shadow | My recollection is that all though the 90's the Chinese government would release enough old crop corn to drive down the futures price then buy large amounts of cheap futures. It served two purposes: one, to move the old corn out of storage before it went bad and two, lock in low prices after the old corn was consumed. It worked like a charm time after time one of the competitive benefits of a central planned economy. |
