Rockford, IL | I do not disagree that some farmers are already making their decisions for 2014 this fall but if most farmers made their final decisions this early there would be no reason for the Congressional Budget Office to wait and come out with their best guess (purely based off economics and just for giggle they stated the 2013 corn crop would be 14.454 bil bu) in Feb or for the USDA to come out with their planting intentions report in March. Do you think we should go ahead and move that March 2014 planting intentions report up to November or December of 2013 since the acres will already be determined other than a minimal amount of acres? If we as farmers knew the numbers so far in advance we should be able to make a killing in the markets each year. Just my take on it. | |
