| Last year I had a number of whole cobs left on the ground after harvest. I believe it was from the auger running to fast on the 40 series corn head and was throwing them out the front. One person had told me the augers run too fast and should be slowed down. He said he has seen where people will move the auger slip clutch to the back main hex shaft that drives the corn head from the feeder house. This way your driver speed is slower.( at least on my combine). The one thing he did not know was the RPM of the auger. Has anyone slowed their JD auger down this way and do you know what RPM should a person be looking for? | |
