If Hayes thinks that is a "worst case scenario" I'd say he doesn't have much of an imagination.  Scenarios worse than that are frequently posted right here on this forum.  Some here are even predicting a global economic collapse and an end of the U.S. $ well before 2017.  So maybe the worst case would be corn at two sea shells in '17?  If the asteroid doesn't get us, that is.
