Subject: RE: green to brown in two days

I went by a field of my early planted corn tonight (and I don't mean real early, but the first window of April 29-May 1 or so when the forecast was cold and sucko) and was really surprised at how much of the plants fired in the last 2 days.  A portion of that is just from maturity, but not enough.  I really thought we had a shot at the first 200 bpa corn we have put a combine in since 2008, it was only one nice all-night soaker away from happening.  Probably need to go walking and evaluate how much tipback has happened since last week...
