There havent been any big feed lots near Emporia in quite sometime.Many years ago Girdnir Crofoot & Sons had a huge cattle feed lot near Strong City,KS just to the west of Emporia.If I remember right they pulled up and went to Arizona around 1970.Does anyone remember them and what year it was?
Cattle have been hauled to the packing plant in Emporia for years but I guess $3.00 diesel has changed things.
