East Central South Dakota | Lot of guys on here talked the shallow rooted corn argument with N deficiency all summer and it is proving to be right. I am WAY disappointed how fast corn is deteriating. Way faster than i ever dreamed. 10-15 percent yield reduction to me now---was expecting 5-10 percent this late in maturity. Will get some of that back in price and no/lot less drying charges. Beans are hanging on and look better than expected. All my back yard observations. We were a garden spot--might have to go on a road trip to see how fast other areas are loosing it----by the sounds of things i better start tomorrow as a week of this weather----might be all over for some areas in week. As fast as we are going it will be interesting to get next weeks condition ratings. |
