Sandy Hook, MB

1972 - 8/22/2013 19:57 I was talking with our feed nutritionist about this topic, we always cover our silage pit and then put tires on top. One problem is frozen tires with snow and ice in the winter. I asked him about using some of our 3x4 square straw bales to cover instead of tires, as we feed straw in our mix daily with the TMR. He said to give it a try, any thoughts. TIA

Hello 1972

Straw bales will attract mice & rats that will chew holes in the plastic cover.
