How many guys will it take out while they are "absorbing" this. Yes eventually if you want to eat steak you will have to pony up to do it, but in the meantime there will be many that don't make it. In all reality it should actually make higher beef prices eventually. Have a close friend that gets all the baby bull calves from local dairy. The dairy said he could take them free but he still can't make money even at that.. He's is quitting until he can lock in a profit.
Feedlots will keep feeding but I would think they will take them off feed much sooner, therefore less meat and less meat means more demand and more demand means higher prices. Well thats how it "should" work but will it?? If the price goes up import more meat then.
There are many ways this will all shake out and none of them will be the way you think it should happen
