Middlesex County, Ontario | All it really cost you was 30 hours of depreciation, you got some free maintenance (hoses) out of it, you got free trucking to the field you want, and he sounds like the kind of guy that was careful with it. 30 hours of depreciation on a 20,000 hour life machine means this really cost you nothing. I'll bet the hoses and trucking is worth more than the depreciation so you are already ahead.
If he was moving across the state next week I would not charge him. Since he's probably not moving I might charge him a small amount so he doesn't make a habit of borrowing it.
Maybe tell him you would have charged him $30/hour*30h or $900, but the hoses + trucking was about $900 so he just owes you supper. |
