NE Iowa | I usually don't have the camera along when I check cows. But these cows are on a rented pasture 17 miles from home farm. I usually check the cows so dad hasn't seen these girls for a while so took a couple pics. This rented pasture has poor fertility but fertilizer bill would be twice the rent so just stock lightly. Really starting to get dry but nothing like last year. Pic of the red white face is for Jim, closest thing to Hereford I've got. She's actually about 7/8 Simmental like most of the cows. The bull is 3/4 Black Simmental and 1/4 Angus from Wildberry Farms. The last couple pics are of the CRP ground I was asking about this week. Debating whether to bale on October 1st when it expires or just spray it. Not the tallest but it sure is clean. It will be no-tilled to corn next spring.
