Mow with a sickle mower and the v-rake seems to pick up better same direction as mower. Like others said the straighter the better for cleaning up. Does seem to help if rake guy has some baler experience. Knows what the baler can go across. We hay some awful rough, rocky, and rolling ground, anything too rough to farm and too small to pasture.
