The number of .319 was a number that USDA assigned to this years yield calculation formula --

All other numbers were actual verified ear weights from harvest surveys in the given year.

many have stated that with higher populations ear weights will only trend down and so maybe the .319 number was even high

simple fact is that if you through out the 11 and 12 years ear weights are most likely on the rise as an example the 2009 weights were the second highest in the last 20+ years and 2004 were the highest - I doubt populations have risen much if any since 2009 and if you are to believe many on this board they claim to have cut rates to save money ( well at least they say that when they plant ) but that is what they said last year which has no correlation to this year. LOL

Like I stated the thoughts of the trade are really around a low yield number of 154 ish --- can that change YES will it ??????

If you are going to throw out the two lowest weights, you should also toss the two highest, IF your goal is to be objective.
