Subject: What could be the next weather card played??

Kansas City
As for today, the corn and soy markets will continue to worry about "weather," with soybeans being the most influential at this juncture. The problem is if the "freeze" card never comes out of the deck, I am afraid ALL grain and soy prices will continue to tumble on higher global stocks and increasing global competition. Unfortunately wheat will more than likely get pulled down by the weight of the other two unless some NEW bullish headlines are released soon. Producers who need to make catch-up sales in soybeans (less than 60-70% sold) should consider pulling the trigger sooner rather than later. I am just afraid of the strong headwinds we might face late in 2013 and 2014 if the US crop does NOT see more production problems. Best advise, don't let the most recent seemingly bullish USDA data sway your opinion, stick with your original game-plan, keep hedges in place and look for ways to reduce further risk at profitable levels.
