| with all the discussion of yield estimates recently, It makes me wonder how accurate yield checks can actually be this year. I am not saying this as a bearish or bullish statement, just a thought in general. There was a lot of corn planted around here in less than ideal conditions, which led to a lot of holes, thin spots and uneven spots, so a lot of inconsistency across most fields. You can be fairly accurate estimating yields across a consistent field, but a less consistent stand makes it tougher to get a close estimate. Corn in this part of the world looks good from the highway but how good won't be known til the combines start rolling. Just a thought... Any other thoughts or comments, or is this just a me or a here thing?? | |
