| This is my first year growing watermelons and was just wanted to find out from any of you that have grown them in the past how you judge when they are ripe. I would hate to take one only to find out it wasn't ready. Do you wait until the stem is brown and the vine is dead? Lucky the melons I have are in different stages of growth so won't get 15 watermelon at the same time. I don't even know the variety I planted. I think I planted 3 different kinds. Do you have a favorite? thanks in advance for any advice. | |
