If you and your neighbor are serious about snaplage, and don't yet have an ear corn adapter, time is running out, and they are not cheap.  6 to 10 thousand, for new, depending.  Used can be had, but can be hard to come by for the exact situation.  It takes a day  to convert from silage to snaplage, and most people only want to switch once per season.  If your neighbor is eager to get his first client and try it, you are in a good position from the standpoint that he is eager, but there is a learning curve.  If you make it at the right moisture level, you do not need a recutter screen.  At 40% moisture +, and a little time to ferment correctly, it does not need to be pulverized.  The longer it is ensiled, the more available the starch becomes.
