OK son put red clover into a wheat field. We will be taking the field back to put in permanent pasture but before then we want to put in a annual grass. I remember baling wheat stubble with clover in it for cow woows. When was that normally done? My thoughts a grass of some sort would help with the mix of forage. I do not need the forage for this summer but always need food for the winter. Or should I plant something now for fall grazing? We try to feed no more than 1 bale or 2000# of stored feeds per cow for the winter. Ideally we would bale the clover and then seed something for fall grazing providing weather will cooperate with timely fall rains. I have a sneaking feeling I will run out of growing days if I bale and then seed a fall mix. Ben
