appears that they used a bentonite strip. I'm not a fan of those as it tends to move when the concrete is dropped on it. The pv strip that goes half in the floor pour and the other half in wall is what I like to see. NOT saying it is wrong, but, guessing that bulldog might be expecting to see that vs. the black strip.
