ND | I like straight LAB innoculants. I used some with L. buchneri for a couple years and I don't think it's worth the extra money. It is supposed to extend the bunk life of the silage but if the silage storage is properly sized that shouldn't be an issue. Furthermore, L. buchneri produces acetic acid from lactic acid, a process that requires energy. So basically you are trading stability for energy. I use an innoculant from CHR Hansen called Biomax MP. It's reasonable and I've had good luck producing quality silage. | |
