New Mexico | make it easy on themselves and make the cattle do ALL the work ( including feeding themselves ) if possible.
( there can be huge differences in thought process thus operating practices )
Some are going to create work and feed hard during seasonal bad weather and might even like calfing in snow, mud rain etc..
Others tend to believe in the Gods, the Spirits, the Lands of Enchantment etc..
heck turn out a bunch of bred hiefers on good natural going, check em once a week or month and count calves.
Keep in mind 100 years ago in places like Texas there were 5,000,000 head of natural wild cattle.
Today there are still only 5,000,000 head of somewhat natural cattle running on Texas grass, cactus, cholla etc..
hmmmm....one might ponder that and perhaps begin to feel the cattle do just fine doing more themselves.
tmr mixers??? jeez, elevators?? veterinarians???.
There's likely no such thing as folks having cow problems.
Might be a few cows that have people problems instead.
