When we chopped a lot of haylage, we would make a long narrow pile along one wall of bunker. Cover when done. Then we would remove cover and cover with corn silage later. Essentially no spoilage. A real good way for us to feed a little hay with corn silage and not have two separate piles. Like Garvo said, it gets pretty tight!
Should I pile it or bag it?
