Wisconsin | There should be a left and right wedge I'll call them don't know proper term. they are in front of the cutterhead and guide the crop into the knives. Without them the hay can get by the side of the knives but usually wrap on the shaft by the bearing's causing bigger issues. Also you didn't state which lenght of cut setup your using. The early Gehl's used different sprocket's for lenght of cut. Chart should be on chopper tool box cover. If last owner only had 4 knives they pobably were at 3/4 cut and let the processor deal with crushing the cob and kernal's. You need to slow the feed down for shorter cut. | |
