The prop acid lets the bugs that are there do their jobb while preventing yeast and molds from going. Plus it works at any moisture where the inocluant needs to be at the right moisture to work. And we all know that we put it in perfect every time. Actually both would be good on rained on hay, but most don't want to spend that much $$ to do that.
