Subject: Intended silage crop getting rained on?


Eastern Half of Kansas
Seems like I have read before that if you have some alfalfa or cereal grain mowed for chopping and gets rained on it can "mess" up the ensiling process. Please enlighten me or give me some university reading. Have some triticale mowed Saturday, chopped Sunday and Monday before it rained .85" chopped 40 more loads and then got 1.00" last night. Probably got 20-30 loads left.
