I think I would worry more about giving it to a gas station clerk, etc. Google is a reputable company. Besides unless you really are asleep at the switch you don't have to pay for fraudulent charges on your CC. If your number gets misused, you don't have to track it down anywhere, they just cancel and give you a new card and number. My CC number must be stored 100 places at least.
