The older 540 blowers pitch the silage nearly straight in from the side of the big impeller. The later model 1000 rpm versions rotate the rotor the other way and pitch it in at an angle so it is already going close to the same direction it needs to go, The big impeller doesn't have to change the direction it's moving as much, just gives it a bit of UMPF to send it on up the pipe! | |
