We've tried it..no real correlation. Anymore, I just check the heifers at night be before bed and the older cows only if the weather is terrible. If they can't calve by themselves and keep it alive, I don't need them around. We had a long winter but luckily never had any calving difficulties this season. Put plenty of them in the calf heaters and had plenty of other wrecks but didn't pull a calf all year. Seems like most of our activity is in the early morning and that's the time we are feeding.
