Texas/New Mexico Stateline | The cab and the engines are their strong suits. Powershifts are ok as long as you don't abuse them. Shift up at moderate rpms when you are under load. Seems like if you are loaded and the engine is running too slow it makes the shift worse. Big thing is be easy downshifting like coming to a stop from road speed. Idle back and wait for the tractor to slow down before down shifting. Pretty common sense but some times people don't realize.
I believe in over maintenance on the transmission fluid. Change it out every 2-3 years, and filter changes every year between.
We had one that had lining material come off the brakes (probably due to water contamination, previous owner) and it caused all kinds of problems, ultimately ruining the powershift clutch packs.
Flow control is a knob on top of each remote valve under the left side of the cab. Very stupid and hard to get to adjustment, IMHO. Later model 94 series had the controls up in the floor of the cab. |
