| Did he apply fertilizer with the planter? Seems like a lot for of ground to cover with a 2 row planterWe had to push to get 40 ac a day wih our H & 4 row planter putting down fertilizer, drry herbicide & insecticide. We would start at daylight, someone would run the planter thru lunch break, and it was dark when we finished. I can remember standing on the drawbar shining a flashlight down the marker track to help the driver see the mark. One of my first jobs was to unload 4 bags of fertilizer from the pu & stand it in the ditch. In an 80 rod field, that was every two rounds. You had to be "spot on" where you put the fertilizer so when they stopped they didn't have to "pack" it very far or you'd get a chewing out.
