We have rolled from pre plant all the way trough 6" beans.
Main reason for it all is easier harvest ability through level ground and fewer rocks sticking up.
If you are doing it for a supposed yield bump I don't know but maybe your time is better spent managing weeds or something else.
Every yer we have beans that don't get rolled but have been rolled in the past and there is not a noticeable yield difference. We run disc drills here so once a rock gets pushed in it usually stays in so the need to roll is not as great as say after a field was cultivated or back in the hoe drill days.
