Subject: Dekalb germ problem?

wisconsin
I got my Dekalb seed in last week and with my past experience from last year, and all the talk over the winter i thought i should check and see how well this years seed will sprout. I dont know if i did this in a NAT approved manner but this is what i did. I took 100 seeds out of each variety and soaked them in paper towel over a period of days in some trays. in the shop that is always at 62 Degrees F or above. and then counted what seeds did not sprout at all. These are my results.

DKC 52-62 Germ on tag was 95% My test had 89%

DKC 49-94 Germ on tag was 95% My test had 90%

DKC 52-04 Germ on tag was 95% My test had 72%

DKC 52-59 Germ on tag was 95% My test had 84%

DKC 48-12 Germ on tag was 95% My test had 100%

IM not bashing Dekalb but i thought id put this out there, so if any of you have some of these varieties you may want to check them also because from what i found here it looks like we will need to increase seeding rates on a few of these varieties that sprouted less than the 95% that was stated on the bags tags.
