Subject: RE: seed sugarcane

central - east central Minnesota -

puff33m - 3/30/2013 10:26 Anyone have experience with backyard sugarcane. The recommendations say to cut your seed cane before winter and store it. If I can't find someone that stored "seed" locally, the High School has unharvested sugar cane from last year. Of course it has been froze out about 8 times this winter. So I assume above ground is dead. Does anyone know if I can harvest some portion of these plants above or below ground to move to another site as "seed"?

I can't be of ANY help . .. . .  but, I know, next winter - I'm going to try the premise, I have to go to Hawaii, to get seed cane for my spring planting here. See if the IRS has any problems with that.   ( ^ ;
Sorry, my post wasn't of any value or help to you ~
