Laid out one of my test plots this week. Corn was planted last week, we went on to get a 4" rain after planting. Suggesting why I'm looking at the project. It is randomized replicated small plots of 5 rates of control release fertilizer. They finally came out with custom blend. It is polymer coated urea, like ESN. The cover crop was rye, ryegrass, clover, peas, and radish. We usually split N 4-5 times, and a good bit of that leaches out. I've used ESN before at layby and it didn't release fast enough in my interpretation. So I'm working figuring out timing and rate of a blend like this. We planted P2023 at 6 3/4" apart with 15 gallons 28% 2" from the row.
