As another poster mentioned, you might want to check out a Vicon spreader. I believe the model that would fit your needs would be the 1004. May also be listed as PS-1004. That model holds 2400 pounds. Spread width is 3-60 ft.

I bought a new PS-403 back in Feb. Had used spinner spreaders for the last 30 year. Borrowed a Vicon from a neighbor last year and after spreading with it,I decided I needed one. Sold my spinner model. So far I've used it for grass seed and ran 15 tons of fertilizer and 34% nitrogen through it. BTW the one I borrowed was 21 years old and was rebuilt last year for the first time. I don't think I'll be going back to the spinner type. The Vicon is very accurate, easy to clean, doesn't get fertilizer on the tractor and the setting arm doesn't move once you get it set. http://www.solexcorp.com/productfiles/vicon/vicon.html

Hopper cap. is less than the chart in the link. Mine holds 800 lb. the chart says 950. That's why I used the 1004 model. It should hold a ton.
