SE Iowa | I often prefer annual ryegrass with radish and clover ahead of corn...a little oats in there wouldn't be all bad either...as far as herbicide issues - this year with our significant shortage of in season rainfall was the first time we have seen any negative affects from herbicide residuals...with heavy soils and normal rainfall your options should be pretty open as far as species selection to be flown on...with your latitude, in a corn/bean crop system, if you don't fly it on or someother means of broadcast but choose to drill you are pretty well limited to using cereal rye... | |
