SW IL | I live about 60 miles south of St.louis and have some ground that is vulnerable to river flooding. So needless to say i keep an eye on the missisippi river stage. I checked it on sunday and noticed a 22 foot jump over the next week. Which would put it above flood stage. Was there that much rain up north over the weekend or are they releasing a lot of water from the resevoirs on the missouri river? A jump like that is not uncommon on a wet spring if the ground is soaked and a system comes through and dumps 6-8 inches over a large area north of St.louis. | |
