I have a customer that has successfully planted VRT for the past two years with a complete John Deere system. We know the technology will work.
My suggestion is that you use a combination of yield/moisture maps from previous years (plural) and compare them to soil maps.
Then decide if you want to plant to max yields or lower cost of production.
Then talk to your seed person or persons and get the best info on your choice of varities for your operation. Not all varities will work in VRT conditions - some will work better than others. Do not forget to think about fertilizer etc in the deal as well.
Just my thoughts and ideas.
Thanks
Paul
