95% control acceptable? I am no mathematician but that sounds like a recipe for disaster. Period.

Lambsquarter and pigweed can stay in the soil and viable up to 20 YEARS! It takes 3 years just to get to 50% depletion. One escape can produce hundreds of thousands of seeds. How does anyone thing that 95% control is acceptable? Sorry, you got it coming if you think "good enough" is going to cut it.

I have yet to meet a weed that is resistant to mechanical control. Be it the plow, field cultivator, row cultivator, or the venerable hand operated hoe.

It sounds like I get upset about this. I do. It's those few that abuse the tools we have and ruin the efficacy for the rest of us. We have a guy around here that thinks one pass of round up is good enough. It shows. I can't imagine what his yield was in the drought we had. It will only be a short time before we have resistant weeds here and now I have to change my program sooner.
