old ag pilots are rare.
Well that isn't quite true Prohay, in fact most ag pilots are over 50, as the average age is 50-60. The industry has struggled to replace the experienced ag pilots with the next generation. Many ag pilots fly well into 65 years of age and only stop when the FAA takes away their medical when they have health issues. Quite impressive with the demanding hours and environment they work in.
Here's a interesting tidbit from the NAAA (National Agriculture Aviation Association)

I thought it would be cool to get my old daisy bb gun and play war.
And Tjim I wouldn't try that now. It has been a big issue with the industry involving individuals "shooting or threatening" the aircraft. And it is a felony. Here's the most recent example from a man in Texas shooting at an ag plane. He shot through the prop, hopper and pilots pant leg. He was sentenced to 1 1/2 years in federal prison and $297,000 fine.
