West Kentucky | We sprayed ours at VT, and have for years. All of the data that I have seen indicates that the most bang for your buck is spraying at VT, however there are many people pushing spraying at either V6 alone or V6 in combo with VT. Both can and have given yield increases, but they have not consistantly netted as much money in testing (and we all know how inconsistant fungicide responses are anyways). I have seen benefits from spraying at V6 alone, but they haven't been nearly as consistant as spraying at VT. Just keep in mind, most people can not spray with a ground rig at VT. So, if you are selling fungicide and most of your guys can't spray at VT, when are you going to tell them to spray it if your goal is to sell fungicide? Also, if you are a seed company rep and you have a hybrid that benefits from fungicide, but the farmer doesn't have the ability to spray at VT, when are you going to suggest he sprays it? Spayed early is better than not at all in many's view. | |
