E.Central MN | Yes, if you never had a license or it has lapsed then you are required to take the open book test for private applicators, commercial is still closed book plus there is an intermediate licence for large farms that have more than a certain # of employees. If you are just renewing your private applicator test then all you had to do was attend one of the workshops for the entire session and pay the $50 (I think most of the sessions are done for the year here in Minnesota). The one I attended this year was a little more boring than usual, wasn't much help for anyone who came to get help for taking the test. They did cover some things that I had not thought about such as seed bags that contained fungicide/pesticide treated seed should not be burned, buried, etc. I asked what were we supposed to do with them and he didn't have an answer for that. Oh, well, guess he was mainly worried about our health. | |
