south central IOWA | Just the spears on the loader work for me. Dad, he likes to use this crazy contraption that he picks up with the loader spears and it's basically 2 tires that roll the bale. I'm too lazy to get out of the tractor to hook the chain up is the only reason I don't like the crazy contraption.
We have a neighbor grinding his silage bales. According to his skidloader when he first baled them they were weighing around 1500lbs (he made them smaller in order to handle them easier). The grinder says they now weigh 900lbs.
