western iowa,by Denison | Maybe sell your cattle that bring top dollar and hold back 80 head that wont bring as much and feed them,the market is up and down at every market-guess you have to do what suits you-I wondered the same thing-when I bought those 3 steers cheaper then the heifers-one of those years where the lite calves are worth more then the heavy's-I dont normally buy good cattle so I dont get them top gains anyhow-I remember once not getting my first cost back on 500# feeders,they weighed 1200#-involved banded steers that ended up as dropped nut bulls-wasnt to bad,there was only 42 head out of 100-5th group i ever feed,needless to say I havent bought anymore cattle from that guy!Good luck ahay! | |
