Subject: Any pointers to help with the storm comming in?

North Central Kansas

I have seen anywhere from 6"-22" of snow predicted for my area here in N.C. Kansas.  We are a little out of practice in dealing with so I'm extremely nervous.  I have around 50 calves on the ground aging two weeks to one day in age.  I have calf shelters out with straw.  Most of them are on corn socks and I'm worring about the blowing snow.  How much can these calves take?  I have a barn and shed I can put any newborns in during the storm (not big enough for the pairs on the ground) so I'm not as worried about them.  I'm hoping the moma cows will take their calves to the sheds or shelter them from the snow, but I don't have too much faith.  We just haven't had to deal with this for some time.  Any thoughts or advice?
