Subject: Re: Wind speed error on a Davis Weather station

Mason City, IL
Boog, make sure that the wind cups are all the way down. Mine for some reason had slid up just a hair and was not reading correctly. I can't remember if I had to loosen a set screw or what to adjust. It was a very small amount though but it fixed my problem. I have mine mounted 4ft above the shed roof but it's only 60 feet from my 2 story house so if the wind is out of the north the house will mess with it. Also now that a couple of trees have gotten much taller I think that a northwest wind will read low. May have to try and move it somewhere else but don't know if the wireless will send far enough if I do. Will experiment this summer maybe.
