| I recently received a Davis "Vantage Vue" weather station Being today was a nice day, temps in the 50s, I decided to put it up. Everything seems to be working except I think the wind speed is registering about 1/2 the actual speed. We have a local airport about 5 miles away that posts weather stats every 15 minutes. I've checked their log & my Davis is showing about 1/2 the wind speed they are. It also shows about 1/2 what my hand held annometer (sp?) I use for spraying shows. In the "settup" it has a setting for wind cup size. The wind cup sizes are listed as "Small", "Large", and "Vantage Vue". I have checked the "vantage Vue" as instructed in the settup quidelines. There is also a a calibration box es for "Raw Reading" and "Adjusted Reading" To calibrate the offset do I enter the known wind speed , either airport reading or the hand held reading, in the "Adjusted Reading" and the wind speed from the monitor in the "Raw Reading" ?
Also, where can I find the rainfall totals for my area for this year?
