Subject: Re: My observation from a recent trip to Illinois

Ringwood, IL (NEIL)
I grew up and live in northeast Illinois. Never heard of a "dry" town / county or no beer sales on Sunday until I went to EIU in east central Illinois (not dry but, at least then, no beer sales on Sunday). Some people I met there wee from small dry towns from other parts of the state. It was very odd to me. Seemed very "old school" to me. We have bars (yes, usually 2 even in small towns) in every town around here. I visited southern Missouri a couple of winters ago and was so bored that I figured I'd go to the bar and hang out. Though it wasn't a dry town, there simply wasn't a bar for miles around. I couldn't wrap my head around that.
